Jigme Singye Wangchuk National Park

It is the third largest protected area in the country sharing borders with Royal Manas National Park in the south and biological corridors connect it to Jigme Dorji National Park and Wangchuck Centennial National Park to the north and Phrumsengla National Park to north east.  It is spread over an area of 1730 sq.km.

 

  • Home to Royal Bengal Tiger, Golden Langur, Musk Deer, Clouded Leopard, Golden Cat, Marbled Cat, Red Panda, Rufuous Necked Hornbill, Satyr Tragopan and Himalayan Monal.
  • Harbours half the population of “Critically Endangered” White Bellied Heron.
  • Operationalized in 1995.
